Two arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after car 'collided with a pedestrian'

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car 'collided with a pedestrian' in Stoke-on-Trent yesterday.
Police and paramedics were alerted to the incident on College Road, close to the Boughey Children's Centre, at 6:30pm on Monday.
A teenage boy, the pedestrian, was taken to hospital with "serious" head injuries and he remains in a "critical but stable" condition.
Staffordshire Police has now confirmed an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. A dark blue BMW was also recovered by police from Basford Park.
The 18-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We arrested an 18-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, at the scene, on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been further arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
"We have arrested a 20-year-old, from Stoke-on-Trent, this morning (Tuesday 5 August) on suspicion of attempted murder.
"Both remain in custody.
"The car, a dark blue BMW, has been recovered from near to Basford Park."
