Police are returning to court to try to get permission to board up a trouble-plagued house for the next three months.

North Staffordshire Justice Centre granted a temporary closure order for the property on Burgess Street, in Middleport, following a hearing last week.

A full hearing will take place today (17 October).

It comes as neighbours have reported drug-dealing, fights, late-night visitors, and thefts linked to the address. They say the property has had its windows put through seven times.

One resident on nearby Clovelly Walk said: "It looks like we're going to get peace back, this area used to be dead quiet. The house was used as a drug den basically."

Another neighbour added: "There was drug-dealing going on from the house. It has just been horrendous. Cars pulling up at all hours of the night, young girls going in there, and fighting in the street. The windows have been put through about seven times."
