Two men and a woman from North Staffordshire have been arrested following an investigation into the illegal importation of drugs.

Cheshire Police has confirmed that a man and woman were arrested in Staffordshire on 8 September and a second man was arrested on 15 September.

A 36-year-old woman and 35-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme were both arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug Cocaine and possession with intent to supply a Class B drug Cannabis

A further 28-year-old man from Audley was arrested on suspicion of improper importation of goods – controlled drugs of Class B into the UK, and Possession of Criminal Property.

Cheshire Police said that items including expensive clothing, a Polaris Quad bike and Jet Ski, were also seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "All three have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

"A 48-year-old man from Crewe was also brought in for questioning as part of the team's enquiries."
