Three dogs, one cat and hamster rescued from house fire in Stoke-on-Trent

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service have rescued three dogs, a cat and a hamster following an accidental house fire in Stoke-on-Trent.

Crews went to the scene shortly after 1pm yesterday (Tuesday 15 October) when smoke and flames were seen coming from a house on Hollings Street in Fenton.

Breathing apparatus and hose reel jets were used to extinguish a fire in the ground floor by 1.23pm.

No-one was inside the building at the time.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "After an inspection, the cause was deemed accidental following an electrical fault.

"Firefighters have now left the scene."
