Staffordshire Police say the boy was assaulted on Newcastle Street on Saturday 22 February at 5:30pm following the match between Port Vale and Salford City.

Now officers are appealing for information to find the attackers.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We are appealing for information after a teenage boy was assaulted in Stoke-on-Trent.

"At around 5.30pm on Saturday 22 February, a 15-year-old boy was walking along Newcastle Street, Burslem, when he was assaulted by a group of unknown offenders, who were all wearing dark clothing, after the match between Port Vale and Salford.

"The boy was punched in the back of the head and kicked in the face numerous times.

"We are currently reviewing CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time and would urge anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant dashcam footage to get in touch with us."
