Hugely popular Staffordshire restaurant chain, Paragon Group, has announced that Dougie Mac Hospice will be its charity partner for the next two years.

Paragon Group has nine restaurants across Stoke, including The Swan with Two Necks, The Wayfarer, The Orange Tree and The Block House

Dougie Mac was chosen by the group's 500 team members and they have pledged to raise £50,000 for the local hospice.

The group's restaurants will go head to head to see which venue can raise the most money.

Richard Colclough at Parogon said, "Legacy is a Parogon core value and we're determined to have a positive impact on our local communities, beyond our business life.

"Giving back to an amazing charity like Dougie Mac and helping support those in need is a privilege that we're very delighted to embrace.

"This pledge will take our donations well through the £100,000 barrier and it's great to be continuing our long standing relationship with Dougie Mac."

Dougie Mac, which is celebrating 50 years of care in 2023, supports children, young adults and adults facing life-limiting illnesses across North Staffordshire.

The hospice cares for more than 3,500 local people each year, supporting patients in their own homes and at its two hospice sites in Blurton and Trentham.

Donna Adams, Head of Fundraising at Dougie Mac, said, "We're absolutely thrilled that Parogon's staff chose Dougie Mac to be their charity partner and we're really looking forward to working with them over the next couple of years on lots of exciting fundraising initiatives.

"It costs more than £17 million each year to be able to offer our wide range of care and support services to local people facing a life-limiting illness.

"Partnerships like this are vital in enabling us do what we do and we're so grateful to everyone at Parogon for their support."
