Stoke planning roundup: Extensions, courtyard improvements and telecommunications monopole plans

Here are some of the planning applications submitted to Stoke-on-Trent City Council over the past week.

18m high telecommunications monopole with an equipment cabinet at the base

Plans have been submitted for a new telecommunications monopole on Clayton Lane, Springfields, Stoke-on-Trent.

The application states: "The location has been identified as being necessary for Cignal Infrastructure UK Limited business development and meets its specific technical and operational requirements."

A decision has not yet been made regarding these plans.

Inner Courtyard improvements works and elevation alterations

The buildings on Church Street are currently Grade II listed (Nub News).

The former Spode Works on Church Street, Stoke, has been granted permission to make improvements to their Inner Courtyard and make elevational alterations, including access to the Spode Museum and Shop.

The buildings are currently Grade II listed.

Permission was granted today (31 March) for this work to go ahead.

First floor extension to create a self-contained flat

Plans have been submitted to extend the first floor of 17 Station Street, Longport, Stoke-on-Trent, to create a one-bedroom self-contained flat.

The application states that all materials used will match the existing building.

A decision has not yet been made regarding these plans.

Various building signage at Sandyford KFC

KFC, High Street, Sandyford has been granted permission to erect various illuminated and non-illuminated building signage as well install a new entrance door and respray existing frames and windows.

Permission has been granted with conditions including "the maximum luminance of any light source shall not exceed 600 candelas per square metre" and "only those materials specified in the application shall be used in carrying out the development hereby permitted".
