Stoke-on-Trent's first ever comedy festival to take place next month

Stoke-on-Trent's first ever comedy festival is set to take place next month at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery.

The council has partnered with Me and Mrs Jones Comedy to bring the event to the forum theatre at the Hanley museum.

The two-day festival will see a range of famous faces and touring comedians take to the stage, including Shazia Mirza, Steve Royle, Scott BennettNathan Caton, Justin Moorhouse and Kiri Pritchard-McLean.

Councillor Jane Ashworth, leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: "They say comedy is the best type of medicine and I couldn't agree more. Our city is rich with culture and has some fantastic events going on, but to be able to host the city's first ever comedy festival at one of our museums is superb.

"Tickets are selling fast so book now so you don't miss out. I can't wait to watch some of the shows, the festival will have something for everyone." 

Comedian Kiri Pritchard McLean said: "I'm so excited to be performing at the inaugural Stoke-on-Trent Comedy festival, I've always had such fun with Stoke-on-Trent audiences when I've gigged here in the past and now I've finally be able to use the word inaugural in a sentence."

The city's first ever comedy festival will take place at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery (Nub News).

Rachel and Dave from Me & Mrs Jones Comedy who organise and promote professional live comedy events in and around Stoke-on-Trent said: "As residents of the city, we are excited to be working in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council and The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery to bring you the first ever comedy festival in Stoke-on-Trent."

The comedy festival will take place on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 May and tickets are now available to book here.
