A man has been arrested after police found monkey dust and a realistic fake handgun in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called to Lamb Street, Hanley, at around 12.25pm yesterday (17 April), when a man was seen with drugs in the area.

Police searched the man and found monkey dust and a fake black handgun.

A 63-year-old man, of no fixed abode, has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm in a public place and possession of a controlled class B drug.

He remains in custody.
