A car thought to be lost forever has been found in west Stoke-on-Trent.

Three adults have been charged with theft offences after a stolen car was stopped in Stoke-on-Trent.

On Monday 10 April, a Ford Focus was taken by two men without the owner's consent from an address in Stafford.

Yesterday (Sunday 16 April), we spotted the car on Ashlands Road in Stoke-on-Trent and searched the inside.

Three men have now been charged by Staffordshire Police, two of which are from our area.

John Joseph Ward, aged 37, of Goldenhill, Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested and has since been charged with taking a car without the owner's consent.

Martin Ward, aged 23, of Standish, Wigan, was arrested and charged with the same offence.

Charles Ward, aged 25, of Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested and charged with the same offence as well as driving without insurance.

All three have been released on police bail and are due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 30 May.

Government figures for the whole of the UK suggest that about 50% of stolen cars are recovered.

So this Stoke motor owner should consider themselves lucky.
