A new path connecting Stoke-on-Trent station to the Goods Yard in Stoke has been completed.

Social impact developer, Capital&Centric, has unveiled the newly completed path which starts at platform 2 at Stoke-on-Trent station and ends at Goods Yard, a residential and commercial neighbourhood which opened in Stoke last year.

The developer has said that the new route could cut commuters' travel time by more than 70 percent, with the walk taking under two minutes.

The new path, shown in a video from Captal&Centric below, is part of the larger Goods Yard project which has so far brought 174 homes, new workspaces, food spots, and a public square to Stoke-on-Trent.

The neighbourhood also features a gym, mini-cini, and resident lounge, all managed by Capital&Centric's in house residential management operator, Ollo.

Goods Yard opened its doors last year and has welcomed more than a hundred residents alongside coffee specialist, Cotton.

Global property advisor Avison Young has also now moved into the pavilion building, with Panko & Sushi set to open its doors before the end of the year.

Tom Wilmot, joint managing director at Capital&Centric, said: "The new pedestrian and cycle route has completely transformed people's arrival experience in Stoke-on-Trent, replacing a typical pavement walk for something that feels part of the neighbourhood from the moment they arrive in the city

"It perfectly captures the vision behind Goods Yard - crafting a place which connects seamlessly with Stoke and its transport links."

The developer hopes that the direct station access now will encourage more businesses to fill the remaining commercial spaces.
