A school in Stoke-on-Trent will come together to reflect on the legacy of a teacher later today, following his death.

Mr Lee Povey worked at Kingsland CE Academy, in Bucknall, as a teaching and learning practitioner.

The school will be hosting a 'short reflection' in honour of Mr Povey at 3pm today (1 July) in the school's hall and a book of condolence has been opened for former pupils, parents and families to share their memories of Mr Povey.

Kingsland CE Academy thanked former pupils and parents for the supportive and kind messages sent since the news of his death was shared.

The school said on social media: "In the Lantern Café room, we have a Memory Table and Book where we warmly invite all parents and families to write down a memory or special moment they shared with Mr. Povey.

"This book will later be given to Mr. Povey's family so they can read about the meaningful impact he has had at Kingsland."

The school added: "In response to the requests from our parents to come together and reflect on Mr Povey's legacy, we would like to invite you to a short reflection in our school hall.

"If you would like to attend please make your way to the school office, and we will warmly welcome you in. "
