Robbie Williams urges Stokies to take part in tea party world record attempt for centenary

Robbie Williams says it's 'time to raid your nan's cupboards' for cups as he urges Stokies to join a world record tea party attempt in Stoke-on-Trent next week.
The Stoke-on-Trent born pop star has called on people in the city to take part in the Big Centenary Tea Party happening on 8 July at 11am to celebrate 100 years of city status.
The event will see tea parties hosted across the city in community halls, care homes, hotels, schools and office spaces.
Robbie said in a video posted on social media: "We all have things going on in our lives, but what a great opportunity for everybody to take a moment to get together, talk and share stories.
"Maybe your tea tastes tremendous, in your finest made in Stoke on Trent, tea cups.
"Time to raid your nan's cupboards. Come on, Stoke, let's smash a world record too. Happy 100th birthday to you."

The current record is held by Yorkshire Building Society, which had 667 staff members enjoying a cream tea simultaneously in 2015.
The tea party is being arranged by organisations including YMCA North Staffordshire, Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, the Community Foundation for Staffordshire, Made in Stoke, Stoke-on-Trent College, VAST, and Stoke-on-Trent City Council, with support from the Ambassador Theatre Group and a wide range of local partners.
