A lorry has collided with a railway bridge on Anchor Road, Longton (Stoke-on-Trent Police).

A busy road in Stoke-on-Trent is currently closed after a lorry collided with a railway bridge.

A tweet from Staffordshire Police says: "Please be advised that the Longton side of Anchor Road is fully closed both sides due to an incident by the railway bridge. Please find a different route."

The AA report: "Road closed and slow traffic due to crash on Anchor Road both ways from Market Street to Bathurst Street."

Anchor Road is currently closed whilst structural damage is assessed (Stoke-on-Trent Police).

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We were called at 10am to reports that a articulated lorry carrying another articulated lorry had collided with a railway bridge, and another truck, on Anchor Road, Adderley Green.

"The collision involved a DAF truck and a Mercedes Sprinter flatbed truck. No-one was injured. 

"The road is expected to be closed for some time."
