A man who raped and recorded a woman undressing in Stoke-on-Trent has been jailed.
Jaroslaw Adamkowski, of Stoke-on-Trent, appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court yesterday (Thursday 15 January) and was jailed after previously pleading guilty to the rape of a woman and two counts of voyeurism – recording a private act.
The 42-year old was jailed for seven-years-and-seven-months and was also put on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely as part of his sentencing.
Staffordshire Police said he raped the survivor in February last year.
Adamkowski also recorded her in a state of undress, without her knowing, on two occasions, in January. Staffordshire Police later found the videos after examining his phone.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "The survivor bravely came forward and reported the abuse to us, prompting an investigation.
"Adamkowski was arrested and brought in for questioning, where we secured the charges against him."
Detective Sergeant Razwana Nasheen, from the Staffordshire Police rape and serious sexual offences unit, said: "We're determined to seek the toughest possible punishment in court for those guilty of these types of offences and to deliver positive outcomes for survivors."
Staffordshire Police urged survivors who want to talk to the police to call 101 or use Live Chat on their website.
