A man has been charged with burglary and arson offences in Stoke-on-Trent.

Staffordshire Police has confirmed that Sean Adam McCann, 40, of Hanley, has been charged with aggravated burglary and arson.

It comes after officers went to Blakelow Road in Abbey Hulton.

The police force said officers found a man inside the address with "a number of injuries" on Sunday 13 September.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "The man was taken to hospital, where he remains today (Tuesday 22 September)."

In a statement made earlier today (22 September), Staffordshire Police said McCann remains in custody and was due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre this morning.
