The RSPCA branch in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, suffered another break-in last month (RSPCA/Google).

The RSPCA Staffordshire North Branch has launched an appeal for donations to replenish its stock after one of its charity shops was broken into.

The burglary took place between 11pm on 29 October and 4am the following morning at Music, Movies and More, one of the three RSPCA units in Hanley.

After the shop door was smashed open, a burglar entered and made off with an iPad before returning several times later that morning. Two different males were then caught on CCTV entering through the open door at around 4am carrying bags which they filled with vinyl records, DVD box sets, digital cameras and portable radios to the value of around £700.

This year the branch has already had to fork out £1,800 replacing windows broken in separate incidents of vandalism - now it has been landed with a bill in the hundreds of pounds to repair the damage to the shop door.

An iPad, vinyl records, DVD box sets, digital cameras and portable radios were stolen (RSPCA).

Patrick Vasey, Staffordshire North Branch Manager, said: "We are really saddened we've been targeted like this. It was the last thing we needed and while the items are not high value they are still popular with our customers.

"As a charity we rely on our donations to help fund our care of animals in North Staffordshire so we would be enormously grateful to receive similar goods as new donations to make up the losses. We have found a replacement iPad temporarily but the other stolen items are a little more specialist and we would welcome anyone bringing similar products into us.

"We closed for a couple of days after the break-in, but it did allow us the time to have a refresh of our store lay-out. We have got three shops in close proximity to each other and they are very popular with shoppers in Stoke-on-Trent."

Anyone who has any information about the burglary should contact Staffordshire Police on 101 and quote incident 200 of October 30.
