Elderly woman sustains life-threatening injuries following collision in Stoke-on-Trent

A woman has sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision in Bucknall, Stoke-on-Trent, last night (6 November).

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 6.19pm to Werrington Road to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and two BASICS emergency doctors to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "Upon arrival we found an elderly woman who was the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.

"She received advanced trauma care from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital under emergency blue light conditions for further treatment.

"No further patients required treatment."
