The Sleep Out will see thousands of people camping on the concourse to raise awareness of homelessness (Sarah Garner).

This year's Big Sleep Out will be staged at the Bet365 Stadium on Friday 17 February and is sponsored for a second consecutive year by Tile Mountain.

The initiative encourages supporters to help raise awareness of homelessness within Stoke-on-Trent.

Those taking part get first-hand experience of what it's like to brave the elements overnight as they bed down inside the Franklyn Stand concourse, all whilst raising much-needed funds for local charities.

The chosen charities this year are The Macari Centre and Stoke City Community Trust.

Participants must be 11 and over but under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Supporters are encouraged to raise at least £100, with a deposit of £18.63 contributing towards the donation.

Adrian Hurst, Head of Community at Stoke City, said: "The Big Sleep Out has become an annual event in a number of people's calendars, and this year we are keen to make it bigger and better than before. I encourage those that have done it before to do it again and for those who are thinking about it to take the plunge and sign up. Once again, we want to raise awareness and money for the issue of homelessness in Stoke-on-Trent."
