A Stoke-based domestic abuse charity has created Valentine's Day cards for customers across their services who have been impacted by abuse.
Glow have distributed these cards to survivors, both living in refuge and starting their recovery journey, as well as pupils learning about healthy relationships in local schools.
The cards encourage self-love and remind recipients that support is always available, now and in the future.
Operations Manager Jackie Capewell said: "While Valentine's Day is a happy time for many, it's a difficult day for people who have experienced domestic abuse.
"This year we wanted to use the day to raise awareness of coercive and controlling behaviour, which is a sign of an unhealthy relationship. Coercive and controlling behaviour is dangerous as it can be very subtle at first but gradually lead to other types of abuse.
"As well as raising awareness, we've also created Valentine's Day cards, from Glow to our customers. They're a reminder that we're always here for them, whether that's now or in the future.
"At Glow we're on a mission to address, overcome and end domestic abuse. This is something we're working towards every day of the year, not just Valentine's Day. We'll continue to support our customers and help them work towards new, brighter chapters, free from abuse."
