Susan's Deli, on Millrise Road, Milton, opened earlier this month in memory of owner Casey Staley's late mum who died suddenly last September.

The brand-new deli is open seven days a week and specialises in homemade meals, jacket potatoes, salads and breakfasts.

Casey and his fiancé Laura decided to open the cafe as a way to remember Casey's mum, Susan.

Susan's Deli is dedicated to Casey Staley's late mum, Susan (Stoke Nub News).

He told Stoke Nub News: "My mum's lifelong dream was to own her own deli.

"She had six children and brought us all up on her own so I thought the best way for my and my brothers and sisters to remember her was by opening a deli.

"We focus on providing homemade, affordable meals because my mum had a budget to feed us all so she had to make sure the food that we had went far."

All of the recipes were taught to Casey by his mum, and he has passed them on to Laura who "is doing an amazing job".

The deli has proved incredibly popular since opening just over a week ago (3 February) and they already have a portfolio of five-star reviews.

Neil Gerrard wrote: "We've been working in Milton for the past couple of days and we've called each morning for breakfast. Great shop, friendly staff, great food, nice to see that it's dog friendly too. Especially after reading the plaque about how the name came about - much admiration to you all."

Susan's Deli offers a range of homemade meals and snacks (Stoke Nub News).

Another customer wrote: "Called into Susan's Deli today to support our new village shop. Two very tasty breakfast baps, would highly recommend and good price too! Lovely young couple, let's all treat ourselves and support them at the same time!"

Casey hopes to open another deli shop in the future with the same quality home cooked food.
