Staffordshire Wildlife Trust launches photography competition for charity calendar
By Liana Snape 20th May 2026
Staffordshire residents are being urged to send in their best nature photographs to help raise funds to bring more nature back to the county.
Staffordshire Wildlife Trust has launched a competition to find 12 images celebrating local wildlife and places from across the county for its charity calendar.
Sarah Davison, Marketing and Communications Manager, said: "Nature is in trouble. Decades of decline have left little diversity – only pockets of nature rich space remain.
"Each day, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is working to bring nature back across the county. We want to restore what we've lost and bring diminished landscapes back to life, so wildlife can thrive once again.
"We need local photographers help. By entering our photography competition you'll help raise vital funds towards our work. You'll also inspire more people to enjoy Staffordshire's nature and fight for its future."
The Trust is also encouraging up and coming young photographers to enter with a dedicated under 18 category.
The winning young person will win a photography tutorial with top local wildlife photographer Adrian Clarke.
Sarah added: "Entries close at 9am on Monday 13 July. We can't wait to see your entries - good luck."
The 12 winning entries will feature in the Trust's 2026 calendar and all winning photographers will receive a copy.
The overall winner will be chosen by an online public vote - with their image featured on the calendar's cover. They will also receive a pair of 8x42 binoculars worth £89.95, donated by Viking for the competition.
The winners will be announced by the end of July, with a public vote running during August before the overall winner is revealed in early September.
Photographers can submit up to three landscape-oriented photos, which must have been taken in Staffordshire.
Details of how to enter, plus full terms and conditions, can be found online here.
