The staff at a Stoke-on-Trent bar honoring local music legend Lemmy, are swapping their usual black attire for pink t-shirts in support of Breast Cancer Awareness this October.

IFK Legacy CIC, the team behind the Lemmy statue and Old No.6 in Burslem, is now selling their Lemmy's Lounge t-shirts in pink to raise money for the cause.

As well as selling the t-shirts, the staff at Old No.6 will be wearing the more colourful uniform throughout October - which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Bar manager, Louise Potts, said the initiative has already been popular with locals and regulars.

She said: "Usually, we've only got black, white and grey t-shirts and sweatshirts.

"As soon as these went on sale - I think within 20 minutes - orders were coming in online and the regulars were asking about them.

"So it is already going a bit better than we thought it would."

Louise added: "Lots of people have commented on how good the pink actually looks.

"And it's nice that people know we [IFK Legacy CIC] are happy to support other charities and businesses."

Staff at Lemmy's Lounge also explained that they chose to support breast cancer awareness as it is a cause 'close to their hearts'.

I think between all of us as a work family, we've all got somebody who's either had cancer or it has been in the family, so it's very close to all our hearts," Louise said.

She added: "Most people who have walked through our door have probably had some sort of dealing with cancer.

"So if we can give something back, no matter how small or how large, it all helps."

Another member of the team, Lindsey Glover, said: "I don't think I know anyone whose life hasn't been affected by cancer.

"Whether it's a parent, an auntie, an uncle, or a friend, I don't think anyone can say they have never heard anyone they know suffer from cancer."

The t-shirts can be ordered online via the IFK website, or at the bar.

Each t-shirt costs £35 and £10 from each sale will be donated to Breast Cancer Now.
