A popular takeaway on a busy road in Meir, Stoke-on-Trent, has applied for permission to stay open until 3am.

Tigerbite, on Weston Road, opened back in March and currently operates between the hours of 4pm and 11pm.

A planning application submitted to the local council says: "The current conditions and allowed opening hours are restrictive to our business operation and we want to bring our opening times in line with other Tigerbite stores locally.

"We would like to request that the current condition surrounding opening hours is changed to allow up to open from 12pm to 3am everyday."

Tigerbite's Stoke branch is open 4pm-2am everyday and the Tunstall store is open 4pm-3am everyday.

A decision is expected regarding these changes in the coming months.
