Pioneering new medical technologies being used to treat cancer will be showcased at an event at Keele University.
The showcase is led by University Hospital North Midlands (UHNM) Charity and will be hosted at Keele's School of Medicine on Wednesday 3 December.
It will highlight the innovative new technologies being used by surgeons in North Staffordshire and beyond to help patients with head and neck cancers, as well as the inspiring stories of the patients who have benefitted from them.
The event is being held to celebrate the partnership between Keele and UHNM, and will be led by Professor Ajith George, Consultant Head and Neck Surgeon and Thyroid Lead at Royal Stoke University Hospital, and Honorary Professor of Surgery at Keele.
Professor George will give guests a guided tour of the new technologies being used by doctors to help people every day.
Surgeons travel from all over the country to train with Keele School of Medicine's facilities, using the latest medical and virtual reality technologies to hone their skills and practice procedures to remove cancer from the head and neck.
The event will also include a powerful session featuring patients who have benefited from these techniques and technologies, sharing their stories and experiences.
Professor George said: "This event brings together our local academic and healthcare institutions showcasing the work that goes on behind the scenes to support innovation that benefits our local population in Staffordshire."
The event, held on Wednesday 3rd December between 4pm and 8pm, is open to the public and anyone aged 18 or over is welcome to attend.
