PureGym has announced that it is opening a new facility in North Staffordshire.  

The new branch is set to open this Spring at the Moorlands Shopping Centre in Leek. 

The unit was previously occupied by Wilko before it closed down in 2023.

A spokesperson at PureGym said: "We are thrilled to be bringing the UK's favourite gym to Staffordshire this Spring, with the opening of PureGym Leek at the Moorlands Shopping Centre. 

"The new facility will provide a high-quality fitness offering for residents of Leek and surrounding communities, while also providing around eight new jobs in the growing health and fitness sector. 

"As more people recognise the significant physical and mental health benefits of regular exercise, we remain committed to providing first-class fitness facilities at affordable prices to as many people across the UK as possible." 

PureGym explained that once the branch opens in Spring, PureGym Leek will be open 24/7. 

The spokesperson added: "Members of nearby gyms in Stoke-on-Trent will be able to upgrade to a Plus membership to gain access to the new gym, or alternatively transfer to a Core membership at PureGym Leek."

Members will also be able to use the free parking spaces, subject to availability.

 The new gym will open at Unit 4 Moorlands Shopping Centre, Leek in Spring.
