Staffordshire Police have secured a three-month closure order against a property on Foden Street, Stoke (LDRS).

Residents are once again living in peace after Staffordshire Police secured a closure order on a Stoke property. Residents living on Foden Street say the streets are now quiet following a year of unrest.

For at least a year residents were dealing with drugs being sold from the property, a caravan parked on a nearby green space, multiple police visits a week and individuals using alleyways as a toilet. Staffordshire Police secured the closure order on Wednesday 11 September.

The order prevents anyone from accessing the property for three months, forcing people to find alternative accommodation. The property is now emblazoned with a warning saying the property has been secured and will look to prosecute anyone trying to enter the property.

For at least a year residents were dealing with drugs being sold from the property (Google).

Residents living on the nearby Nursery Street told the LDRS what life had been like. One resident said: "It did get really bad. They had had a caravan parked in the middle of the green and they were selling drugs between the house and the caravan, it was horrific.

"They had a security camera on the back that was obviously keeping an eye on the caravan because the two were clearly linked to each other. At tea time all the druggies would come and sit outside and it was getting to the point where it was just horrific."

Another resident added: "It got to the point where people were scared to go on to the green because there were needles everywhere. You could see them come along and try the car handles to see if they were open.

"Since they've gone it's quiet and peaceful, hopefully it stays that way. I've seen one of them use the alleyway to have a poo in and the police were called to get rid of him."

Staffordshire Police have been approached for comment.
