Staffordshire Police has charged a man with burglary offences after a series of parcel thefts from doorsteps in North Staffordshire.

Robert Martin, 38, appeared before magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre last Wednesday (2 July) and has been remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 4 August.

It follows a series of recent doorstep parcel thefts in Stoke-on-Trent, Stone and Stafford.

The man, from North Staffordshire, was charged with two counts of burglary and four counts of theft.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "A man has appeared in court charged with burglary offences following a number of doorstep parcel thefts in Stone, Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent recently.

"Robert Martin, aged 38, from North Staffordshire appeared before magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Wednesday (2 July) charged with two counts of burglary and four counts of theft.

"He was remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing due at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday 4 August."
