Great-grandmother Susan wins £2,500 after picking up £2 Dougie Mac scratchcard

A great-grandmother from Stoke-on-Trent is celebrating after scooping £2,500 from a Dougie Mac scratchcard.
Susan Carter, 71, from Packmoor, picked up the scratch card after a blood test a Bradwell Hospital and later realised she had won the jackpot when she returned to her car.
Mum-of-two, grandmother and great-grandmother Susan is being treated for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and says she is planning to spend the winnings on home improvements.
She said: "I was walking into the hospital when I saw the Dougie Mac stand so on my way out I stopped to have a chat. I had a £2 coin in my purse, so I bought a scratchcard from him as a way to support the hospice.
"When I got back to the car, I scratched a couple of lower amounts and two £2,500 amounts and then the last one revealed a third £2,500 – I was absolutely amazed and couldn't believe it.
"I had to go back into the hospital to check with the guy from Dougie Mac to make sure I had definitely won.

"When I called my husband at work to tell him I had won the money he didn't believe me.
"We have just had some new doors installed downstairs in the house, so we are going to use it to buy matching doors for upstairs."
Jane Irving, head of lottery at Dougie Mac, said: "It was great to welcome Susan to our Adult Services to celebrate her winning £2,500 on the scratchcard.
"We're so grateful to everyone who bought a scratchcard as the money raised will enable us to continue our care and support services for local families."
Dougie Mac is launching a new scratchcard game which will offer a top prize of £2,500 as well as lots of smaller prizes.
