Police name man charged after boy hit by car in Stoke-on-Trent

Staffordshire Police has made another arrest and named a man who has been charged after a boy was hit by a car in Stoke-on-Trent.
The emergency services were alerted to the incident on College Road in Shelton close to the Thomas Boughey Children's Centre on Monday (4 August) at 6:30pm. A teenage boy remains at the Royal Stoke in a "critical but stable" condition after he sustained "serious" head injuries.
Now Staffordshire Police has confirmed 18-year-old Brwa Abdulla, of Shelton, has been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, driving a vehicle dangerously and failing to stop after a road accident.
A 41-year-old man was also arrested on Tuesday evening (5 August) on suspicion of committing an act or series of acts with intent to pervert the course of justice and possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place. He was later released on conditional bail.
The 20-year-old man who was arrested on Tuesday morning has also since been released on conditional bail while "enquiries continue".
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Brwa Abdulla, 18, of Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, drive a vehicle dangerously and driver of a vehicle fail to stop after a road accident.
"A 20-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, who was arrested yesterday morning has been released on conditional bail as our enquiries continue.
"A 41-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested yesterday evening on suspicion of committing a act/series of acts with intent to pervert the course of justice and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place. He was also released on conditional bail.
"Abdulla is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Wednesday 6 August)."
