Staffordshire Police found a handgun, machete and knuckle dusters during weekend raids at two properties in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers forced entry into two properties in Sandyford and Tunstall to find cocaine, around £2,500 cash as well as "a handgun and bullets, three knuckle dusters, a baton and a machete".

The raids, at 6:30am on Saturday 8 March, were led by officers from the major and organised crime teams from Staffordshire Police as part of an investigation into a drugs line selling cocaine.

A 37-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested and released under investigation while Staffordshire Police continue to make enquiries.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "A 37-year-old man, from the Stoke-on-Trent area, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug, possessing a firearm without a certificate, possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A (cocaine).

"He has been released under investigation whilst our enquiries continue."
