Police charge suspect after report of man with gun near Stoke-on-Trent Go Outdoors

Staffordshire Police have named a man who was arrested following reports of a man with a gun on Festival Park. 

Reece Chell, 26, from Longton, has been charged with possession of an air weapon when prohibited for five years and possession of an imitation firearm in a public space. 

Staffordshire Police was alerted to the incident on Monday afternoon by shop staff who told police they had seen a gun near Go Outdoors on Festival Park

An update from Staffordshire Police said: "A man has been charged after shop staff in Stoke-on-Trent told us they had seen a gun.

"Reece Chell, 26, from Longton, has been charged with possession of an air weapon when prohibited for five years and possession of an imitation firearm in a public place.

"It comes after firearms officers went to Festival Park in Etruria, at around 4.45pm on Monday (24 February), following a report of a man with a gun near to Go Outdoors."

Chell appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Wednesday 26 February and was bailed to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre of Wednesday 7 May.
