Staffordshire Police is appealing for information after a man died following a crash in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area.

The police said a white Ford Transit van was travelling along Shraley Brook Road in the direction of Halmerend when it was involved in a crash with a black Audi A3.

The driver of the Audi, a man in his 30s, suffered "serious injuries" and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger in the Audi suffered minor injuries and both the driver and the two passengers in the van also suffered minor injuries. The driver is continuing to assist collision investigators with their enquiries.

Staffordshire Police has now named the driver of the Audi as 30-year-old Macauley Jenkinson, from Derby.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We are supporting his family at this difficult time."

In a tribute to him, Macauley's family said: "Macauley Jenkinson (Mac) was a deeply loved son, devoted daddy, cherished brother, boyfriend, loving uncle, stepson, and grandson.

"He was also a loyal and treasured friend to so many.

"Mac had a heart full of happiness and brought joy to everyone who knew him. He was taken from us far too soon, but his love, laughter, and memory will live on forever.

"Rest peacefully Mac. You will be deeply missed."
