Redundant kitchen space at George & Dragon in Longton could be transformed into a flat if plans are approved (Nub News).

Plans have been submitted to Stoke-on-Trent City Council to transform redundant kitchen space in a Longton pub into a residential flat.

George & Dragon, on Heathcote Road in Longton, is used as a pub on the ground floor and as flats on the first floor.

The applicant, Bosworth Properties Limited, has applied for permission to transform kitchen and storage space on the ground floor into a one-bedroom flat.

A previous application was not validated by the Local Planning Authority as the application was not accompanied by a noise impact statement.

The building, on Heathcote Road, is used as a pub on the ground floor and flats on the first floor (Nub News).

Noise calculations for the internal flat have shown that levels "would not exceed the adopted design guide levels under the windows closed condition.

"As a consequence it is suggested that the existing noise climate should not be regarded as an impediment to the granting of planning permission providing the suggested sound insulation measures are applied to the proposed flat."

A decision is expected regarding these plans in the coming months.
