Plans have been put forward to convert a former boathouse in a Stoke-on-Trent park into a brand-new cafe, serving hot and cold drinks and snacks.
The boathouse in Tunstall Park, on Victoria Park Road, is currently vacant.
The applicant, Mr Jamie Gaunt, is seeking permission to transform the early 20th century building into a cafe for park visitors.
The cafe would serve hot and cold drinks, smoothies, slush drinks, ice creams, sandwiches and a variety of chocolates and cakes.
Operating hours would be 8am-4pm during winter months and 7am-9pm in the summer.
A heritage statement, submitted alongside the planning application, states: "The boathouse will not be used for its original purpose again and its conversion into a cafe selling hot and cold drinks and snacks continues the building's historic function as a park amenity serving a public benefit.
"The presence of a cafe in the former boathouse may also serve to increase footfall into the park and enhance the visitor experience."
This comes after previous plans to convert the boathouse into a cafe were withdrawn last year, before a decision could be made.
The full planning application can be viewed here.
