Cambridge House, on Werrington Road, is set to be converted into a children's care home if plans are approved (Nub News).

Plans have been submitted to Stoke-on-Trent City Council to convert a former GP practice in Bucknall into a brand-new residential care home for children.

Cambridge House, on Werrington Road in Bucknall, has been vacant since January this year when the practice closed its doors.

The applicant, Mr Robert Phillis of Cornerstone Refurbishment Limited, has applied to transform the site into a residential care home for children.

The home would have two lounges, a dining room, kitchen and an office on the ground floor and four bedrooms on the first floor, one of which would be for staff.

The house, on Werrington Road in Bucknall, currently has space for two cars (Nub News).

The site currently has two parking spaces, and no more would be added according to the application form submitted to the council.

James Purdie, of Children's Services at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said there would be "no objection" from Children's Services to this proposal.

A decision is expected regarding this application in the coming months.
