Plans for a new South Asian takeaway on a busy road in Stoke-on-Trent have been submitted to the local council.

Mr Kollappillill, of Tasty Foods, has applied for the "change of use of ground floor from retail to mixed use as hot food takeaway including eating in food on the premises, together with external extraction equipment to side elevation" at 311 Hartshill Road, Hartshill.

The unit is currently vacant and was recently put up for rent for £8,400 per annum.

The new Hartshill Road business would be open seven days a week (Nub News).

A Planning Statement, submitted as part of the application, says: "The client seeks to obtain permission for the above site where they are looking to operate a food business which will sell a variety of South Asian hot foods consisting of rice, Chinese dishes, fish, veg curries, tea and fresh juices.

"The business opening hours intended are 12pm-10.00pm 7 days a week and would be within the allocated hours for a typical unit along this parade of shops."

The new takeaway would also employ one full-time employee and two part-time employees.

A decision is expected regarding these plans in the coming months; the full application can be viewed here.
