Man arrested after woman sexually assaulted in a field in Stoke-on-Trent
Staffordshire Police are appealing for information, CCTV and dashcam footage after a woman was assaulted in Stoke-on-Trent recently.
Police were called shortly after 6pm on 6 September to reports that a woman in her 30s had been sexually assaulted between 3pm and 6pm in a field behind Church Road in Longton.
A 33-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested in connection with the incident and released under investigation while inquiries continue.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "The location is just off Trentham Road, close to Longton Cricket Club. We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have relevant information or footage.
"The suspect is described as a white man, in his 30s, of a slim build and around 5ft 10in tall. He was wearing a bright green t-shirt, black shorts, a black cap and purple trainers.
"He was walking with a BMX bike prior to the offence.
"We understand that the suspect had been accompanied by a woman at some point in his journey. She is described as having brown hair, wearing leggings and a black puffer-style jacket.
"We are particularly keen to speak to any dog walkers who may have been out on the field at the time of the assault and urge anyone who saw anything suspicious to get in touch with us."
