Plans for a brand-new residential development on a former pub site in Stoke-on-Trent have been submitted to the local council.

Haleem Enterprises has submitted a planning application for the "erection of four two-bedroomed residential dwellings together with two two-bedroomed residential apartments" on the former Red Lion pub site, on Ruxley Road.

The Red Lion closed in December 2016 and after falling into a state of disrepair, was demolished two years later and the site has been vacant ever since.

A total of 12 parking spaces are proposed, including two EV bays and a disabled space, as well as ten cycle spaces.

A Design and Access Statement, submitted as part of the application, states: "The proposed development makes use of a brownfield site that has suffered neglect over recent years.

"The development would provide much needed good quality residential accommodation required within the locality."
