Plans have been submitted to Stoke-on-Trent City Council for a brand-new residential development comprising over 100 flats in the city.

Property developer, 77K Ltd, has applied for permission to build five blocks of flats on vacant land off Woodhouse Street in Stoke.

The plans are for 115 new flats across five blocks, 101 one-bedroom and 14 two-bedroom, which would be available for rent.

The 4302 square meter site on Woodhouse Street, Stoke, is currently vacant (Nub News).

A design and access statement submitted as part of the application states: "The aims of the project are to create a modern sustainable apartment development that provides safe, secure, high quality accommodation.

"This development will provide a viable purpose built alternative to the large amount of poor-quality rental accommodation, and HMO's in poorly converted Victorian terraced properties that Stoke on Trent currently has."

Space would also be reserved on the 4302 square meter site for 21 car parking spaces and 25 cycle spaces.

The buildings would be constructed with red brickwork and a grey membrane roof (77K Ltd).

The buildings would be built with red brickwork with a grey single ply membrane roof.

The design and access statement continues: "Since the demolition of the PMT offices over 20 years ago the application site has been, and still is, a vacant eyesore on the edge of existing housing stock.

"The site is much in need of some form of redevelopment. The one and two bed apartments will offer smart well managed accommodation, for first time buyers and/or the rental market and will re-use a vacant brownfield site much in need of regeneration."

A decision is expected regarding these plans in the coming months.
