Planning permission has been granted for a brand-new, three-storey care home in Stoke-on-Trent which will provide 70 new jobs for local residents.

Plans were submitted to Stoke-on-Trent City Council back in August 2022, but permission was only granted on Thursday (18 May).

The three-storey building will be built on land to the rear of Aldi, Godwin Way, Trent Vale.

The care home will have 72 rooms for residents as well as 39 parking spaces and one ambulance drop-off point.

The 5550 sq. meter site is situated behind Aldi, Trent Vale (Nub News).

Two objections were raised regarding the plans from residents who were concerned about noise levels and disturbance from construction, thus the decision notice states that "noise is to be kept to a minimum by use of appropriate plant".

Building work will take place  Monday to Friday 7am-6pm, and 7am-1pm on Saturdays and the agent promises that "noise is to be kept to a minimum".
