Overturned lorry on M6 sparks delays in North Staffordshire

Motorists are being warned to 'avoid' the M6 this morning after a lorry overturned near Stoke-on-Trent.
Cheshire Police say the driver is believed to have sustained "minor injuries" and is being treated by paramedics at the scene.
Emergency services were first called out to the crash just after 8am this morning and two lanes out of four on the M6 northbound have been closed.
The two lanes will remain closed until the lorry has been recovered and there are currently delays of around 45 minutes. There are also delays on the A500 towards junction 16.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At around 8.16am today, Wednesday 20 August, police were called to reports of a collision on the M6 northbound between junction 16 and junction 17 near Sandbach.
"Officers in attendance found that a HGV had overturned.
"The driver is believed to have sustained minor injuries and is being treated by paramedics at the scene.
"Lanes 1 and 2 are closed while recovery work is underway. Motorists are advised to avoid the area."
