A total of 178 fake football items were seized from a home in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent (Stoke-on-Trent City Council).

Stoke-on-Trent Trading Standards seized over 150 items of counterfeit football kit hours before England kicked off their Euro match against Denmark.

The team raided a house in Longton on 20 June and found a total of 178 fake football items including tops, strips and tracksuits.

Officers estimated the haul had a street value of over £3,500 and a genuine retail value of over £15,000.

97 England items were among this total of 178 items:

  • 54 football branded strips (top, short and socks)
  • 72 football branded tops
  • 44 x pairs of football branded socks
  • 4 football branded tracksuits
  • 2 football branded shorts
  • 2 football branded baby grows

The business owner is now under investigation.
