We are seeking a part-time graphic designer to join our creative team.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, a strong understanding of visual communication principles, and proficiency in industry-standard design software.

Nub News is a ground-breaking online local newspaper for towns across the United Kingdom. Our mission is to put "your town in your pocket" - we aim to make local news easily accessible on all devices, particularly mobile, without intrusive pop-up advertising, enforced surveys or clickbait.

We will ensure that our content remains truly local. Providing local news, community news, what's on, local business listings, classifieds, jobs, property and obituaries - all the staples of a good local newspaper.

The Nub News head office is based in Crewe (Nub News).

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the sale and business development team to create visually engaging designs that align and brand guidelines.
  • Create compelling graphics for various marketing materials, including but not limited to, banner, marketing presentations, social media content, and presentations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure designs remain fresh, innovative, and relevant.

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of professional experience in graphic design.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects and styles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with motion graphics and video editing software.
  • Knowledge of web design principles.
  • Familiarity with print production processes.
