Residents across Stoke-on-Trent Central are being invited to champion their favourite independent businesses ahead of the second Small Business Awards.

Following the success of last year's awards, Stoke-on-Trent Central MP Gareth Snell is launching the Small Business Awards for the second time.

The awards aim to highlight the vital role small businesses play in keeping high streets vibrant, creating jobs, supporting local communities and driving the local economy.

Gareth Snell MP said: "I was delighted by the response to last year's Small Business Awards and by the incredible range of businesses that were nominated. Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy.

"They create jobs, provide valuable services and help make our communities unique.

"I'm pleased to be bringing these awards back for a second year so we can once again celebrate the hardworking entrepreneurs, shop owners and business teams who go above and beyond for their customers.

"I would encourage everyone to get involved by nominating their favourite local business and helping us showcase the very best of Stoke-on-Trent."

Stoke-on-Trent Central residents are now being encouraged to nominate their favourite independent businesses ahead of Small Business Saturday on 5 December 2026 - a nationwide campaign celebrating the UK's small business sector.

Every nominated business will be featured on the MP's official social media channels and receive a poster to display, encouraging supporters to vote for them.

Category winners will also receive a certificate in recognition of their achievement and contribution to the local community.

Last year's inaugural awards attracted nominations for more than 70 businesses, with certificated presented to 11 winning businesses.
