Man jailed after threatening to kill woman in Newcastle-under-Lyme

A man has been jailed for just under two years following an attack on a woman in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Cameron Bennett, 23, went to the victim's address on 11 January 2024.

He made threats towards the woman after being asked to leave. He then pushed the woman in the chest before going onto damage a bedroom door and lights.

Bennett, 23, assaulted a woman in Newcastle-under-Lyme in January 2024 (Staffordshire Police).

Thankfully, the victim was not injured.

Bennett surrendered himself and was arrested the same day.

On Tuesday 2 April, Bennett was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court to 22 months in prison after pleading guilty to making threats to kill and assault by beating. 

He has also been ordered to pay a surcharge of £187.
