Man arrested after woman from Stoke-on-Trent killed in M6 collision

A man has been arrested after a 52-year-old woman from Stoke-on-Trent was killed in a crash on the M6 last night.

Emergency services were called to the M6 between junctions 21 and 21A at around 12.15am on Monday 9 April.

Cheshire Police have confirmed that a local woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman was pronounced dead after being struck by a vehicle on the M6 to the M62 slip road (West Midlands Ambulance Service).

A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers discovered that a 52-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, had been struck by a vehicle on the M6 to the M62 slip road.

"Attempts to save the woman were conducted, but despite best efforts, she was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene at 1.14am.

"A 52-year-old man from Preston has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving."
