Newcastle man jailed following stabbing in Stoke-on-Trent

A man from Newcastle who stabbed another man in a field in Stoke-on-Trent has been locked up for more than six years.

Maksymilian Jagielski, aged 20, was sentenced to six years and six months behind bars at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Friday (8 March) after he admitted grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.

In July last year (2023), Jagielski stabbed the victim multiple times after they met near Abbey Road. He ran away after doing it, leaving the victim, a man in his 20s, wounded in the street.

Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service treated the victim at the scene and took him to hospital for treatment. Thankfully, he was later discharged after recovering from the injuries.

Detective Inspector Nathan Hough, from CID, said: "We want to be clear that violence will not be tolerated in Staffordshire and we will work around the clock to pursue those responsible and support those affected by violent crime."
