A brand-new takeaway could open opposite a popular nightclub in Stoke-on-Trent, if plans are approved by the city council.

Flames Delight has applied for "the change of use to a hot food takeaway including the installation of extraction system and elevation alteration" at 8 Hope Street, Hanley.

8 Hope Street is a vacant retail unit on a busy street on the outskirts of Hanley town centre, situated opposite Gossip nightclub.

Proposed signage details for the new eatery (Image via planning application).

According to a planning statement, the business would sell "hot foods consisting of peri peri grilled chicken, grilled kebabs, grilled burgers and pizzas" and the planned opening hours are 4.30pm-11pm seven days a week.

The new eatery would also employ one full-time and two part-time staff members.

A decision is expected regarding these plans in the coming months.
