Two men have admitted drug supply offences following an investigation into a Stoke-on-Trent drug line.

Mohammed Aftab, 29, and Usama Ahmed, 31, both of Stoke-on-Trent, both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug – cocaine and acquiring / using / possessing criminal property at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Friday (11 September).

Aftab also admitted possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A – cocaine.

PC Bowers, of the Stoke-on-Trent south local policing team, led the investigation. She said: "We worked tirelessly to gather evidence against Aftab and Ahmed, which has led to them admitting the offences in court.

"We remain committed to tackling drug supply in Stoke-on-Trent and wider Staffordshire."

It comes after officers stopped a car on Sneyd Avenue, Newcastle-under-Lyme on 11 August this year. as part of an investigation into the 'Immy' drug line

Staffordshire Police said officers seized a "large amount of cocaine", more than £3,000 in cash and the drugs line phone.

The driver, later identified as Aftab, was arrested at the scene.

The police force said that the drug line phone revealed that Ahmed was another holder of the line.

Ahmed was then tracked to Cavendish Street, Etruria, where he was arrested and another drug line phone was seized.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Both Aftab and Ahmed answered 'no comment' to all questions when they were interviewed in custody.

"Both men are due to be sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court at a date and time to be fixed."
